These brownies are soft, chocolaty, and fudgy with that perfect soft and crisp top! In this recipe we use coconut sugar and maple syrup and we replace cocoa powder with cacao just for the added mineral benefits! I love taking a delicious dessert and using some better ingredients when making them!
For this recipe you will need 2 Sticks of Softened Butter (1 Cup) , 1 Cup of Pure Maple Syrup, 1 Cup of Coconut Sugar, 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract, 4 Pasture Raised Eggs, 1 Cup Cacao Powder, 1 and 1/4 Cup Unbleached all purpose Flour, Pinch of Salt, 6 OZ Dark Chocolate Bar Broken into pieces, and 1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips.
You want to start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees F.
In a large bowl or stand mixer add the Butter, Pure Maple Syrup, Coconut Sugar, Vanilla Extract, and Eggs. Mix until well combined. Then add in the Cacao Powder, Flour, and salt and mix until well combined. Fold in the 6 oz of broken up Dark Chocolate Bar.
Spread the mixture into a brownie pan 8X8 or 9X13. I like to line mine with parchment paper first. Then sprinkle the Dark Chocolate Chips on top.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 25 minutes.
When done, serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
