Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

If you have never browned your butter for baking then you are missing out! The wonderful nutty aroma and the amazing taste it adds to your baked treats is just delicious! These Cookies are made with Coconut Sugar vice Brown Sugar and you can’t even tell! Coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index and some amounts of minerals! Buttery , Chocolaty, and the perfect soft inside! These cookies are sure to delight!

For this recipe you will need 14 Tablespoons of butter, 1 Cup Coconut Sugar, 1/2 Cup Raw Cane Sugar, 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract, 1 Pasture Raised Egg, 1 Egg Yolk, 1/2 Teaspoon Salt, 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda, 1 3/4 Cup Unbleached Flour, and 1 1/4 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips.

You want to start by browning your butter. To do this heat a skillet to medium high heat and add your butter. As the butter is melting keep stirring it. Cook for 3-5 minutes until it has a nutty aroma and is slightly browning (it will be a bit bubbly/foamy too).

Once Browned place the butter in a mixing bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer. Add the sugar and the vanilla extract and whisk until fully combined about 5 minutes. Add the egg, egg yolk, and Salt and mix until egg is fully combined into the mix.

Add in the flour and baking soda and mix just until combined and forms a dough.

Fold in the Chocolate Chips.

Bake the cookies for 11-13 minutes at 375 Degrees F.

Take out, let cool, and enjoy!
