Hamburger Soup

Jump to Recipe

Comfort food, my favorite! This soup is filling, easy to make, and delicious! You probably already have the ingredients in your fridge/pantry. Filled with ground beef, veggies, and beef broth this soup really is the perfect comfort meal. I love making it during rainy days.

For this recipe you will need one pound of ground beef, one onion, 2 celery stalks, 4-5 large potatoes, can of diced tomatoes, flour, and tomato paste. You also want to use Italian seasoning and salt and pepper. You will use a stick of butter to cook the veggies in and olive oil to brown the ground beef.

You want to first dice up your celery, onion, and potatoes and set aside. Heat a tablespoon or two of olive oil in a soup pot on medium high. Once hot add the ground beef and brown it. Once browned take it out of the pot and set aside.

Turn heat to medium and add in the veggies and 1/4 cup of flour. Cook for 7-8 minutes until tender. Add in the tomato paste, the diced tomatoes, beef broth, and add back in the ground beef. Stir everything together.

Season with Italian seasoning and salt and pepper.

Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes until potatoes are tender.

Serve and enjoy! I like to shred cheese on top and mix it in so it melts with the soup.
