Making your own lotions and creams can be very simple! It is also cost effective and you know exactly everything going on your body! You can also make it smell however you like with different essential oils! Some of my favorite are peppermint and Lavender.
For this recipe you will need shea butter, cold pressed coconut oil, jojoba oil, baking soda, and essential oils of choice.
To make this you will need to use a double boiler method. I usually just take a sauce pan half way filled with water and put a glass mixing bowl on top of it to create my own double boiler. Over medium heat melt the shea butter and cold pressed coconut oil.
Once everything is fully melted remove the mixing bowl from the sauce pan and add in your jojoba oil and your preferred essential oils or you can skip this and just make it without a scent.
Place mixing bowl in the fridge to return it to a solid state.
Do not leave it to get too hard or it will be hard to mix. Just until it returns to a solid state. Then leave out at room temperature for a bit before placing it in a stand mixer, adding the baking soda, and whipping it until fluffy.
Once finished use a silicone spatula to place into a glass mason jar and use daily for shaving!
