Sourdough Pepperoni Pizza

I love using sourdough because of all the benefits! If you still have yet to look up all the benefits of sourdough you need to go do that right now! Having a sourdough starter is so great to have as you can make so many health benefiting foods that normally would yield no health benefits. One of those….. PIZZA! How many of oyu love takeout pizza? All of us right, well we also know that there is practically not much nutritional value in conventional pizza dough. This sourdough pizza crust is way too easy to make and it is my go to for friday guilt free pizza night. Goodbye Pizza delivery.

Goodbye Take-out Pizza. Get in the benefits of sourdough with this yummy pizza! Quick, easy, and the perfect pizza night recipe!
  1. Preheat your oven to 425 Degrees F and place your pizza stone (or cast iron pan) in the oven to heat up. This is important as when you ladle your sourdough onto the pizza stone or cast iron you need it to be hot so it wont stick.
  2. Once the oven is preheated you can take your pizza stone or cast iron pan out and drizzle it with a tablespoon of olive oil. Then ladle 2-3 cups of sourdough starter onto it depending on how big you want your crust. It is supposed to be a thin crust so make sure to spread it out to have a good sized crust. I then carefully use my fingers (carefully because the pan is hot it will already start to cook the crust) and make a bit of an edge around the whole crust to create that pizza crust type look. You can skip this part it does nothing for taste I just like the look of it.
  3. Sprinkle on the salt and Italian seasoning then pop it back in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  4. Once that is done go ahead and take it out of the oven. Pour your pizza sauce on top of the crust and spread it out evenly.
  5. Sprinkle your mozzarella cheese on top evenly and add your pepperonis.
  6. Pop it back into the oven for about 20-25 minutes. If you want your cheese browned once the pizza is done cooking set your oven to broil and let the pizza cook for 1-2 minutes watching CLOSELY so you do not burn it! Enjoy!! Sourdough Pizza Crust is going to be a bit softer than your normal pizza crust no matter how long you cook it once you add pizza sauce it will be softer. It is still super delicious and the outer crust is still wonderfully crispy!
